Two-Gun Kid – The Sunset Riders #1 – 2 (1995) : There’d been significant changes to Two-Gun Kid between the last original story in his title and the 1995 tale. In Avengers #142, Two-Gun met the super-heroes from the future, initially teaming with Hawkeye in the 1870s and then spending some time in the present day before eventually returning back where he belonged. The microseries takes the interesting idea of Matt Hawk being his own murderer as Two-Gun Kid, effectively destroying both his identities. Teaming with a Native American, a Canadian spy, and a samurai, Two-Gun then has to stop a potential international incident from sparking a global war in the 1890s. Nicely designed and decently created, it’s a shame the cover price was extortionate.
