Rima the Jungle Girl #1 – 7 (1974-1975) : Hot topics like environmental activism in the real world provided ideal timing for Rima, the JUngle girl to swing into action. Her series chronicled the adventures of the statuesque Venezuelan “Bad girl” and Abel, the explorer she loved. Rima the Jungle girl lasted only 7 issues, with Robert Kanigher credited as writer for the final three. However, editor Joe Kubert’s gorgeous covers, plus the untamed beauty of South America’s wildlife and flora, as accentuated by famed filipino artist Nestor Rodondo, were unforgettable.
