Copenhagen (2024) : Tired of life as a couple with her teenage daughter, Nana Miller takes off on a whim for a dream getaway to Copenhagen, the city of fairy tales. Her arrival is shattered by an almost surreal announcement: a body has been discovered right in the city center… But not just any body… The body of a mermaid! Denmark is in turmoil, a national mourning period is declared. Residents shut themselves in their homes, the streets empty, the airports are out of service. Nana is stuck far from her daughter, for an indefinite period. In her almost deserted hotel, Nana meets Thyge Thygesen, a tall, terribly endearing eccentric, who will become her companion in misfortune. As cheap detectives, they spot a slightly shady guy hanging around the scene of the tragedy. They get caught up in the game, track him down, and find themselves embroiled in a story too big for them. Thyge takes Nana to the heart of this city of contrasts, between enchantment and modernity. Anne-Caroline Pandolfo and Terkel Risbjerg transport us into a disturbing investigation surrounding this mysterious murder. A dark, poetic tale, carried by offbeat humor and a romantic touch, which at times evokes the cinema of Wes Anderson with its bittersweet and eccentric side.
