Dark Avengers Volume 1

Dark Avengers was the hit-series about a team of Avengers formed by the mind of Norman Osborn. It featured villains (most of them former team-members of the Thunderbolts) who took on the identities of famous heroes, while still staying their own evil selves. The team was backed by Norman Osborn’s inelegance agency H.A.M.M.E.R.. The series was a huge hit, but only lasted for the length of the “Dark Reign” era, for a total of 16 issues and one annual. In recent issues of the second “New Avengers” series, a new team of Dark Avengers is born.

Dark Avengers Volume 2

Continued from Thunderbolts (2006), retitled as Dark Avengers. It still featured the Thunderbolts as well as a new team of Dark Avengers. With the Marvel NOW! launch in issue 184, the Dark Avengers took over the title completely while the original Thunderbolts disbanded. A new team of Thunderbolts however received their own ongoing series once again. This series is cancelled with issue 190.
