Blood – A Tale #1 – 4 (1987) : Labored, tedious, necroporn about the trials of a young vampire man, with incestuous overtones and something to offend everybody, if they can force their way past J.M. DeMatteis’ purple prose and the wispy, arty semi-nudity. Not PC, and sadly not VG either, despite a superficial overripe prettiness courtesy of Kent Williams’ art. A cop-out reincarnation ending destroys whatever shreds of patience remain. The Vertigo issues reprint the four Epic issues, with new covers.
