Fatbardha Rino and the Vision Behind Jet Bank
One name has become inseparable from Albania’s first digital bank: Fatbardha Rino. As CEO of Jet Bank, she brings more than 24 years of banking experience spanning both Albanian and international markets, including senior-level work in Vienna one of Europe’s most established financial centres. Her appointment was a deliberate choice by the bank’s international investors, who saw her expertise and vision as the right fit for building Albania’s first fully digital institution.
Jet Bank received its full banking license from the Bank of Albania on 25 March 2026, following a rigorous process assessed by nine local and international institutions. The evaluation covered governance, transparency, security, risk management, and operational readiness confirming that the bank met every standard required of a licensed financial institution in Albania.
Throughout her career, Rino has championed customer-focused banking, greater financial inclusion, and more efficient service delivery. These values are at the core of Jet Bank’s model: a 100% app-based bank with no branches and no queues, built to serve Albanians wherever they are. In her interview on Top Channel’s Top Story, she spoke about the international network of technology providers and investors who share that vision and who chose Albania as a ready market for this model.
Transparency has defined her leadership style. When public questions arose around Jet Bank’s licensing, Rino responded directly and openly, reaffirming the bank’s full compliance with Albanian law and international standards a reflection of the governance culture she is building inside the institution.
Rino has also taken Jet Bank’s story to the European stage. Her meetings with European Commission officials, as reported by ekofin.al, placed the bank within the wider context of Albania’s EU integration journey. Deutsche Welle featured Jet Bank as an innovative initiative for the Western Balkans, pointing specifically to the team and leadership driving the project forward.
For Rino, the goal is straightforward: a bank built for people, where technology removes barriers rather than adding them, and where trust is earned through results.
